Whether you're single, hitched, or somewhere in between give yourself some time for Self Care on Valentine's Day. 1. Change your Bed SheetsNothing feels quite so good as a fresh set of sheets when you climb into bed, right? How about taking it up a notch? Have you got essential oils? Try putting a couple of drops of lavender or chamomile on your pillows before stuffing them in their cases. Why not make a pillow fort, while you're at it? Grab all the pillows from around your home and pile them high for comfort! Do you have an electric blanket or weighted blanket? Don't forget to add those to your bed for some extra warmth and snuggles. 2. Oil Yourself DownGet naked. Grab your body oil and slather you're whole body with an intimate, kind touch. Wait for 20 minutes. Maybe listen to some lovely tunes (I like Deva Premal) but anything soft and soothing would be lovely. Hop in a warm shower and let the water flow over your body. Move your hands up and down your arms and legs, further massaging the oil in. (Don't soap!) Once you're done, towel off* and sink into that cozy pillow pile you've created. *Be sure to use a towel that is well loved. The oil may stain. I use the one shown above from Neutrogena. It has a scent that always brings me back to the living in a high rise on a beach in San Juan, Puerto Rico. You can use oils that you have in your kitchen cabinets! Olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil. Grab whatever is in your pantry! 3. Chair YogaGive your self 25 minutes of stress relief. Release your neck, shoulders, and spine in this simple but effective practice. Found HERE in another blog post! 4. Splurge on a PerfumeOne of my favorite things to do every morning? Spritz on perfume. I have a scent that is beachy that remind me of Cape Cod. A scent that is sweet and floral and reminds me of Paris. A couple of perfumes that make me feel sexy and sultry and powerful (Black Opium by YSL is one of them). Something about determining how my day is going to be, which persona I am going to empower that day, when I spritz on a perfume.. it transforms me. 5. Write Yourself A Love EmailDid you know you can schedule emails to send at a later time and date? Yes, even a year from now! Write yourself a kind, love filled email and schedule to send it to yourself. Maybe on your next birthday, or a special anniversary you have (I'm sober - so my soberversary would be perfect for me!), or.. send it to yourself on Valentine's Day 2022!
