Round Top, Texas Shopping

​Nestled between Austin and Houston, the quaint village of Round Top, Texas, is a charming destination that captures the essence of small-town charm mixed with rich cultural history. Known for its picturesque landscapes and vibrant arts scene, Round Top is a hidden gem in the heart of Texas hill country.

Round Top is famous for its antique fairs, particularly the Round Top Antiques Show, which attracts collectors and treasure hunters from all over the country. When it's not time for an antiques fair, you will find charming antique shops lining the small town streets and country highways, offering everything from vintage furniture to quirky collectibles. Don't miss the opportunity to explore the local boutiques, where you can find handmade crafts and unique gifts.

One such boutique, and the reason I made the journey to Round Top in the first place, is Junk Gypsy.  I've watched the show for years, Junk Gypsies, and loved everything they had curated on their website.  I had to see their store in person.  Although I absolutely loved the aesthetic of their store, I was a little disappointed in the selection.

 I guess because it is in Round Top, I figured they would have their usual commercial stuff and a mix of antique and original finds.  The later was sorely missing.  I did still find a few things... a necklace that mimicked a rosary and a pair of reading glasses that I had the lenses replaced with my prescription.  So overall, it was worth the stop... but maybe not if this is the only reason you're going to Round Top!

Otherwise, make stops at the little shops in the "downtown" area, as well as, the antique barns along the highway.  We thoroughly enjoyed roaming through Round Top Ranch.  We even returned on our way back out of town to purchase an antique we had eyed on the way in. 

BONUS:  Flatonia, TX

If you're headed to/from San Antonio when visiting Round Top, I recommend catching Interstate 10 from Flatonia.  Just off this exit is Rhinestone Angel Boutique.  Every bit as cool as the shops we visited in Round Top.  Folks were super friendly and I bought a few tops there!
